Far Hills, NJ Flat Roof Repair and Skylight Replacement
This flat roof in Far Hills, NJ was in need of help! The roof and skylights were experiencing leaks. This particular flat roof had a ballast roof system. Because of this, M&M Construction Specialist needed to remove the rocks currently there, power wash the roof, remove and replace the skylights, and then install a silicone coating to the roof to make it waterproof. Four new Velux skylights were installed and the ballast rocks were placed back on the roof.
The flat roof and skylights were experiencing leaks.
Because of the ballast roof system, all of the rocks needed to be pushed out of the way.
The leaks coming through the skylights were so bad that the homeowner tried to stop them with plastic coverings in the interim.
The first step was to push the rocks to the opposite side of the roof.
The crew began prepping the skylight area for work.
The remaining ballast rocks had to be carefully removed.
Next, the old and leaking skylights were removed.
The crew got to work repairing the area around the skylights.
A silicone material was applied around the base of the skylights to prevent future problems.
The crew then got to work installing new Velux skylights.
The Velux skylights are beautiful and are perfect for this flat roof.
After the skylights were installed and the silicone material was applied around the base, the rest of the roof would be repaired.
The flat roof was then covered in a silicone based roof coating.
Once one side was completed, the rocks were pushed to the other side so the entire roof could be completed.
M&M Construction Specialist carefully and evenly distributed the rocks around the rest of the flat roof.
