This historic early twentieth century home in Montclair, New Jersey was damaged by a heavy snow load on its framed hipped roof. The snow load caused the roof to collapse and damaged the brick-work on three sides of the home and the gutter system. Once the collapsed roof was removed, the original, sloped flat roof underneath it was replaced and reutilized as the building’s main roof. All of the brick was removed from the sides of the home, ranging from three to eight feet in height around the perimeter. Some brick was reused and new used matching brick was installed. New gutters and leaders were installed and the bilco doors to the basement were refinished.
