1. PAINT
Paint is the quickest and least expensive way to instantly update a space. Paint cannot help with outdated fixtures or bad plumbing, but it is a good place to start.
2. NEW LIGHT FIXTURES
Good lighting makes a big difference in a bathroom. Consider installing new light fixtures; In most modern homes, this is a relatively simple project.
3. REPLACE THE VANITY
Few bathroom fixtures get as much use as the vanity. Simply mounting a new mirror above the sink or replacing the entire vanity can give an updated look to the entire room. Replacing a small mirror with a larger, unframed version will help to open up a small space.
4. LIMITED TILING
A little tile goes a long way in a bathroom. You can add dimension and interest to the room without breaking the bank by simply adding a single row of tiles along the wall and painting the rest.
5. REDO WHENEVER POSSIBLE
Some bathrooms really need a new tub or shower. Tubs and showers can be refinished or completely replaced. Depending on the current quality of it, your contractor will be able to advise which option is best.
